anthracite door with 2 glazed side panels, with overhead glazed panel suit? I could then match colour on door and recolour the cladding and both side fences

Sounds good to me. My sister has a 50s semi with golden bricks. She’s just had a total refurb and has had all the windows changed to anthracite grey, as well as the front door. Looks really good.

Hi Vkololgi We think a grey traditional door with narrow glazing bars would look great against your white rendering. It gives a slightly modern twist to the house without looking out of place and will let in lots of light. Good luck with your project and post some photos of the final result when all the work is done.

The pipe into the drain, what's it from? If an appliance and this is going then the drain can go. If it's a drain from a sink that is staying then the drain will need to be moved. Not a difficult job for a builder.

The porch isn't attractive but a useful area for hanging coats, storing outdoor shoes etc. I would be reluctant to lose what is a useful extra space. Thinking: Around the door and porch finish the paving and step and if possible continue under front window Paint the porch and and lower panels (It will have to be primed first) with either a stand out colour or a softer option Use window film to give privacy and (in my world) hide the mess:)))

Thanks for all your feedback. I think you’re all right when it comes to sorting out the canopy rather than installing a porch. The windows are relatively new and there’s lots of them so replacing them is not an option. So we’re thinking of going for F&B Hague Blue with worn brass door furniture and definitely some plant pots either side.
