Many thanks for your question. The floor hasn't had a stain applied to change the colour, it is the natural pine from the original floorboards. Please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further question.

Thanks for the reply. we applied a stained varnish and are very disappointed with our results. what did you apply to the floor to seal them and to get that finish?

The varnish may fade over time and you will need to redo it at some point. Are you sure that it was varnish and not woodstain? You can buy garden fence paint which comes in many different colours. I used Cuprinol Garden Shades (similar paints are available) in a pale colour on a shed that had previously been stained dark green and it looked much better.

I know what you mean about the scratches and it’s hard to get across in the photos but there are scratches which we have done deliberately which look great and then there are strange marks which look shiny - my thinking is that our sanding wasn’t done well. I tried wax and oil finishes on a sample board and neither look great. We are open to doing it again or just getting someone professional in to do it, thanks for your thoughts!

Bonkers… aaaarrrggghhh! We don't know what to say, Tani. Not acceptable but this trade of ours is poor at this sort of thing. Mind you, you do get them FOC. Paint… there's another story. Have to pay £5+ for a weeny sample pot. Delays are flippin' annoying but much better to make sure you are certain about your choice. We don't have a display unit in our showroom (drat!) otherwise we'd suggest you come and have a look whilst sipping on one of our exceptionally decent coffees.
