Love this rustic front door and would like one for our retirement home. This door would be perfect.

Thanks so much everyone - this has been great. Sorry for the lack of response - been flat out!!!! It must be hard for you American guys to work on such old English designs.... The ideas have gradually culminated into what really would look good on the house. Ourfarmhouse - these are absolutely great ideas, and thanks Everything Beautiful for getting the jist and putting the ideas onto the house image - nothing like seeing an actual design on your own home. We've got an architech working on it, and he's keen on the iron-wrought idea... but we're not sure. Basically toss-up with this and Everything Beautiful's design (2 above). Going with a four-pannel door, but would like to incorporate some glass somewhere! Possibly a panel above with the house name engraved on it?? Victoria - absolutely right...! We don't need to sit outside with the weather.......... say no more! Just wanting something to cover yourself while you're unlocking the door. We've also done a tour of the local areas, and found a couple of porches - amazing what you find right on your doorstep! Will attach pics shortly...

@john clark I have just bought a walk in shower tray with fixed screen with black profile and support arm for £365 from showertraysuk if you are looking for that rather than over shower bath. Like Katie I got my shower (£160) and exposed trap (£45) for the basin from Victoria Plumb, pop up waste off soak.com (£12.99) taps very similar to Katie but with a rounded spout again off ebay (£65) I've not yet fitted my bathroom but I hope it looks as good as yours Katie!!

Yes Daisy they are not comfortable and we tend to be lounge dwellers lol but I do like a table when I have guests or sunday lunch around a table so nice for get together. I work with lots of young dogs and puppies and my last german shepherd (sadly now passed) had a thing about testing my new tables and chairs just nibbling them around the edges so this was a bit of a solution with metal finish to that issue as we had him for 15years!! lol. But to be honest has worked out extremely well especially for hot things. I have considered Having top recovered in solid surface as I like its shape and size and I do use it as a workstation too and bentwood chairs soooo love this style of iconic chair around a mismatched table and love natural woods thats why I kept the upper cabinets that are solid med.oak and beautifully made just replaced one or two facia panels on the wall units to tie in with my new base units in a matt sage/grey finish thats so easy to keep clean. Going to replace facia on plate rack on far wall next to link it in more sort of evolving this kitchen make over used a great replacement door company in Stoke. If I do replace whole lot table and chairs will then make a charming little set for the garden so I cant complain about this buy as purchased half price In late summer sale nice when things are useful. I do like the slightly industrial timber plank tables too with metal legs and rustic tops

When we were planning our new kitchen, we considered engineered wood flooring -which we have in other areas of the house - but in the end decided on Amtico flooring. The chief reason being that in the areas we already have the engineered flooring, it has suffered from knocks, dents and scrapes, which in the main aren't a problem as such, as they add "character". However, we could imagine that dropping a tin of beans or a heavy Creuset pot, would cause some serious damage, which would be difficult to fix or replace. Hence why we went for Amtico in a wood effect. Which whilst it isn't my ideal, most aesthetic choice, it's far more suited to the kitchen, as it's hard wearing and relatively simple to fix if something hideous were to happen. The only down side is that it cost twice as much as the engineered flooring. The wood effect Amtico are very realistic and the choice of laying pattern can make it really special.
