Hi. I agree that the space saving stuff is nasty. As well as being ubiquitous, it looks cheap (overly fussy cabinet doors made out of something plastic-y... I don't understand why someone hasn't designed something better). Anyway, wall hung units look sharper and it is really easy to clean the floors. Also, provided the door doesn't bash into that unit, you can fit just as much in two deep drawers than you can in three skinny cabinets. That said, assuming we are looking at the longer wall you have (196) then I would move the toilet over more toward the pillar (the pillar doesn't look deep enough to interrupt the actual bowl of the toilet) and get a 90cm vanity and sink in there, flush against the wall next to the door. I have a bathroom of almost the same width and I have a round mirror above the 90 cm vanity so it isn't shoved up against the wall and have a wall light either side of the mirror. There is plenty of room around the loo and there is ample storage (I have a freestanding cabinet that has little legs and two cupboard doors and a sink mounted on the top so that my tall partner can shave and brush his teeth without all the evidence going all around the bathroom).

Dear Wombatchild The two double ovens are on that back wall. The distance from them to the end of the island is 2.6 mtrs. The bank of units is mirror imaged from the centre of the ovens and that means there are two slim pull out larder cupboards on that wall. That 2.6m means that they can be pulled out and it is still no problem for traffic to be flowing past. My hob is on the island itself and the extractor comes up through the granite when in use. That far end of the island is great for taking things out of the oven and checking on food ...... turning potatoes over etc... To the left of that bank of units is a door to my boot room so I need walk way space there. This thread is quite old now and I may be repeating something I typed earlier but I love my kitchen ( think it is about six years since I had it out in) ..... The only things I would have done differently would have been not to have stainless steel sinks as they are a devil to keep looking nice! And I would like more contemporary pendant lights over the island instead of those chrome chandeliers - can change them but still working on husband on that point!!!! X

Hiya, What a lovely space you've created - you must be so pleased! A little bit of advice for your blind - Fauxwood is a perfect material for a bathroom as it's easy to wipe clean and won't warp in steamy conditions. And to get the shutter look you speak about, choose tape instead of cords with your wide slats. You'll get a similar effect at a fraction of the price. Good luck, Zoe

Thanks Daisy, we are trying to keep the costs down, so reusing existing units where possible, but I'm more than happy to spend a bit more money to get a better layout. If you have any ideas for that I'd love to hear it? Even if you think we'd get a much better layout by ripping it all out and starting from scratch then it's worth looking into. Plumbing to the dish washer shouldn't be an issue, because the sink is very close. If there's an issue it'll be with the 500mm drawer unit next to the dishwasher, but that can be moved to the other side of the dishwasher if necessary. Again, any advice you might have for us here would be appreciated. The idea with the corner units is actually really good. The only challenge is the space, again, trying to fit them in and get all the appliances in that we need/want. But we're definitely going to look into it, thanks for the tip! The corner units we currently have are so awkward. Thanks for your help!!! Really appreciate it. Thomas

Hi - me again. We ended up doing our loft and are having a total nightmare with the wet room as water flows out the door. I am trying to find a pivot shower curtain rail like the one utilised in this loft. Is this cross water too? I can’t find it anywhere
