woodwork exterior colours

I have a 6 bed Victorian house 1901 over looking the sea . It had a modern extension at the rear with large windows. The house is white and white plaster render. Suggestions for woodwork at the rear would be gratefully received😍

You certainly have the height to carry such a look but I wonder whether you would lose the definition in some of that beautiful cornice? I like ceilings painted the same colour as the walls. I considered one shade lighter (ie ammonite) to have a slight contrast. You could also paint the cornice white and the ceiling cornforth but I think that is a more traditional look. On balance my favourite would be the cornice and ceiling painted one shade lighter. What have you done in the rest of the house with the ceilings?

Colour is always a very personal matter - to express my own opinion, however, I would opt for white (or just off white) for architraves, skirtings, coving ceiling and any picture/dado rails every time. This will, "frame" your wall and make the chosen wall colour really stand out. Wrt the doors - I think you have more options here. A matching white will still look great; picking your original light grey or, eve, a darker shade could also work (difficult to know without seeing the grey!), but care should be taken. White would still be the safest option (and is a classic - see below), but is not the only route. As another idea - if your doors are panel doors, you could think of going two tone with white and grey to just accentuate the shapes of the frames, but you would need a delicate touch to get the look right

Thanks Mazur. The pics are very helpful but still leave me undecided - perhaps both options have equal pros and cons...or I'm just bad at decision making :). The ceiling and wall are joined by a curve so would not work to paint the black further up although I like the idea. @minnie101 that is definitely the most practical approach with where i have accidentally ended up! I have ordered a black column radiator. Unfortunately the management company is adamant that wooden floors aren't allowed, no matter how good sound proofing is these days so has to be carpet :(. Thanks re the chair beds - they are the same burnt orange as in the blinds so hopefully will look quite dramatic.

Hi OnePlan, thanks for the reply. Good idea to check if anyone is planning a change of colour. I like your idea of inverting the other colours but as you can see there isn't really any colour going on anywhere. Except for the one mint house (just to the left of the frame of this photo) all the others are white w white trim. I really don't want to do anything bright white if for no other reason than the render just gets too dingy (the little lumps and bumps collect such a lot of dust and soot as well as the gull issue). F&B haven't been much help which surprised me as I see so many houses in the country that use these dull dun/greys on woodwork, I'd assumed they'd have some ideas for walls.
