Where is the sofa bar from? Is it portable or secured to the floor?

I've got quite a lot of furniture second hand, including both dressers (although the top half of one has been repurposed as a tall table/stand of sorts), a bed, mirrors, tables, a conservatory three piece bamboo suite (£50) and ikea bar stools. Also inherited a tall pine chest of drawers and one half of the bunk bed I slept in as a child. My parents are always telling me to let it go but I don't see why I should- I have a lot of memories associated with it and an idea to turn it into a mezzanine style bed to free up floor space in a small bedroom.

I know a lot of people have said about trying to keep it light, but actually a darker feature wall (warm rich grey paint if you can't afford wallpaper or want to keep it simple), along with a bunch of mirrors behind that sofa would bring it to life. Having had small victorian homes with dark rooms and tried to keep everything pale, I realised that sometimes there is no point in fighting it! The yellow sofa (which I love - where did u get it from??) will really pop against a darker wall. Otherwise for wallpaper - there are a few websites online that you can buy from in price order and by colour. I've also been looking and you might find a pale background with some striking pattern (darker) pattern would really stand out (rather than going as pale as your curtains)

Hi Sarah I just noticed your message on here and thought I should answer as I've just finished two sofa sourcing jobs for clients so it's all still fresh in my mind! The best kid friendly fabrics to use would be wool, microfiber or leather. If you decide on a fabric make sure you ask for a rub test and it should always be more than 40,000 as this will ensure that the fabric won't wear out too quickly. Make sure the frames are made of hardwood and not plywood and are screwed and not glued together. Badly made frames reduce the live of a sofa and its comfort factor. The best seat cushions should be feather wrapped foam as these are that comfiest and most practical. Also they plump themselves up so you're not forever doing it yourself. If you're going to look at buying fabric separately for each sectional then you'd need at least 25/30 metres each if not more. This would probably end up being a really expensive option as you would probably need to spend a minimum of £50 per metre for a good quality fabric. I don't know what your budget is but there are loads of great sofa companies out there who can provide you with what you need without having to source fabric elsewhere.. have a look at these.. Loaf, Raft, the sofa and chair co, Willow and Hall, Perch and Parrow, Heals, Swoon, Habitat, Zoffany, Alter London, Sofa and More, John Lewis, Lux Deco. May I suggest you email Ikea with these questions? Or call their customer service. I personally wouldn’t buy a sofa, sofa bed or bed without trying it out in store first. Read the reviews for the sofa-bed - are they mostly positive? None of my sofas are identical, but they are a similar colour. It still works.
