white ceiling or all one colour?

Hi just moved into a wonderful house and going to be doing slot of renovations! Kitchen first …cabinets to be changed and tiles would you paint the room one colour we are going for Antique cream to match new grey cabinets or have walls cream and ceiling white?

I’m not sure that cream & grey ‘match’ but that depends on how creamy the cream is & whether it’s a cool or warm grey. Also that’s your choice! Either way, whichever colour you go for, with all the different angles, I think one colour for walls & ceiling would work best. It looks like a great space!

Hi Jo. The light will differ in each room so would go for different shades according to the light in each room. Maybe also consider darker accent ŵalls for alcoves and in the dining room? You could even do the woodwork and coving a shade or 2 darker than the walls. I'd go for a soft chalky white on the ceiling. Have a look at farrow and ball for matching colours or little Greenes shades come in light, mid and dark

Hi Anthony, Thank you for your helpful reply! The Denim Drift room is lovely in the picture and I love the contrast with the white. I'm thinking of getting this Flos pendant light in Chrome: https://clippings.com/products/ic-pendant-light-169721?variation=185491 The kitchen ceilings are not that high and are divided over two levels so the ceiling lights we've looked at are often blocked by the ledge next to the light fixture. I think longer pendant lights may be too low and we don't really have any surface space for them to hover over so the sideways design of this light seems to work. We do have small built inceiling lights and cupboard lights in addition but they don't give us enough light. In the Denim Drift, would you recommend the colour in your picture or a lighter shade? I understand that they can mix it in a few shades. Bekka

Painting the walls a slight off white will help you to achieve a clean canvas without having plain white walls. After you have samples of the flooring try to match up your paint for the walls by going a few shades lighter. You can then add in colour by adding artwork on the walls and perhaps a rug on the floor to add warmth.

Yep - it’s just a very good all round paint. It’s in our bedroom and en-suite too. I like it because it is a very flat matt. (We have Little Greene Intelligent Matt in our main bathroom, but only because i likes a particular colour). Mylands is expensive - slightly more than Farrow and Ball, however I always buy from Paint Depot online who are a tad cheaper and usually have an extra 10% offer too. (I get testers from my local Brewers though because I like to look at them!)

Its a very light cream with. White and the doors will be a more greenery/grey
