Help on high gloss kitchen colours
Comments (8)Hi Patricia. Glossy white cabinets will be great for your kitchen. Easier to keep clean than your existing kitchen as the smooth shiny finish will not hold grime like the textured paint on your current cabinets. A regular wipe down with a damp cloth will be all thats required. The white colour will not show up fingerprints. More important than the colour of the doors is the finish and colour of the worktops, since these horizontal surfaces will take the full brunt of the kitchen workload. Choose a lightly textured surface that will difuse the light from the window. Don't choose a highly reflective gloss finish that will show up every mark and crumb! I personally prefer a dark charcoal or grey patterned colour/finish for a worktop, so that my clients do not feel the need to wipe, clean and polish the surface every five minues. I hope this helps. Comments (13)Grey goes with everything, I love it! In my kitchen I have white cupboards with a green grey granite top and I've just jazzed it up with one of my prints at the back of one of the counters and some old brightly coloured Fortnum and Mason tins to give it some colour. Primary colours will keep it very modern so yellow, red or blue. However the wrong grey can sometimes be quite cold and as the kitchen is the hub of most homes you want it to feel cosy, so maybe the yellow/ red side of the spectrum would counteract that. Saying that though my print is of a peacock wearing emeralds and I don't think the space looks any colder for it. I would just say keep it bright and energetic (maybe a coloured splashback or tiles, or just get some pretty ornaments/ toasters/ scales to liven it up) , if the place looks cold and uninviting cooking won't be so much fun!...See MoreKitchen Colours - Floor tiles cabinets and worktops dilema
Comments (24)Hi Cake lady thanks for your comment. I have considered the wood effect tiles. However the kitchen adjoins a hall which has an oak laminate floor. I'm concerned the two different types of wood will clash. what do you think? Good to know they're low maintenance. I'm steering well away from gloss tiles as spent years trying to keep black gloss tiles clean in our bathroom. Finally replaced last year !...See MoreHelp please, what paint goes with grey gloss kitchen cabinets
Comments (8)Lovely kitchen! I think that the wooden floor you have chosen is a good choice. It will bring warmth to the scheme. I think an off white would be a good choice, something like Dulux Timeless or any of the off whites from F&B (see below). If you want more colour you could always paint the dining end a darker shade? I must say I do like T Gray’s Idea of matching your units then finding colours that go well!...See MoreDaisy England
