Alternative double glazing for an old Victorian coloured window
Clare Stephenson
last year
I have an old wooden single glazed Victorian window ( one of the last single glazed windows in the house). I definitely want to keep this feature, but would love to be able to fit a upvc double glazed unit on the outside of it.
My question is, does anyone know if this is possible ? It would mean once the wooden window had been painted, it would then be sealed from the weather by the double glazed unit on the outside.
It is a very awkward window to paint, due to having to climb onto a roof to get to it, so it would be great if it was maintenance free !
Many thanks.
