What (if any) did you seal the white grout with?

I’m in love with this tile for my own kitchen but concerned about it being in such a high traffic area.

Hi Brittany - Once installed, both the tiles and the grout are sealed with 3 coats of penetrating sealer. This makes cleaning them with a mop and neutral soap and water quite easy. Pictures would help but it sounds like he's after more work. If your not happy with the tilers work call him back Alternatively you can buy grout pens, they're expensive seeing as they look no different than an ordinary pen but they do the job.

While white fencing isn't for me in a back garden, I have seen loads of pics here on Houzz with white fences and, although they mostly seem to be over in the USA (let's face it - they tend to have better daylight in parts of North America than we do in the UK) I do like the look of it, though. I especially like the whitewash appearance if you're going for a Cottage Garden as it adds a weathered appeal. I went for black in my garden which looks pretty stylish, especially with the greens and whites in front of it. I used to live in a house with a roof terrace and we were advised at the time to not use white on the inside of the parapet walls as it would glare too much. The chosen option for the wall was pale grey (before it was fashionable) and it worked really well. For this reason, I wouldn't have gone for white fence or white furniture.

Lainey, boy did I search for cheaper pavers! We went everywhere. When I was looking 2 years ago most pavers were concrete, but the thing that put me off is the red colour fades away on concrete and all the pavers turn grey in the end. They are the sort of pavers people use on drives. However clay pavers are baked hard and the colour is all the way through. They are frost proof too. You can also get brick shaped pavers made of sandstone which are beautiful, but more expensive than concrete. Have a look on Global Stones website for ideas. Nmlondon and Lainey, cats may use pea shingle as a toilet, but I find larger gravel difficult to walk on. Sweeping any chippings isn’t easy, I agree. These are sandstone pavers. Colours are softer:

Any of those grout colours would work, as Sonia says it’s down to personal taste. I prefer light grey as I think the dark grey can look grubby, and the white doesn’t show off the tile as there’s no contrast but again that‘s just my personal taste!
