What colour cabinets with these tiles in Kitchen? Im at a loss!

Hi everyone, I had these rather busy tiles put up and now am going to get the cabinets sprayed. They come on Monday to collect the doors but I have no idea what will work here. Does anyone have any ideas? Excuse the mess!

I'd go for a warm neutral to pick up the beige tones in the tiles. Do you plan to update the handles on the cabinets too? Will be lovely when done!

Hi Jemma, I agree with option 1 from your choices, would definitely work:-) but just to throw a cat in amongst the pigeons... Have you considered rubber flooring at all? Some excellent options available now, clean lines, you can choose to have it look like what it is, or mimic tiles or timber. Gives the best of both worlds as looks good & much softer under foot - just a thought :-)

My twopenneth..... I usually love a good painting update but here I'm definitely with the don't paint Houzzers above. I think the devil is in the detail with this one and you've got the bones of a nice spa feel bathroom space here. Agree you should change the toilet seat to white and consider painting the window frame white too. You could always think about covering the floor with a tile effect vinyl (black and white) for an update there. Complement this with some black and white artwork. The brown tiles will help warm the monochrome look and then like others say its largely about those finishing touches. Some inspiration pics below. The last one is far too cluttered for my taste but gives some idea of how you might tackle some storage, dressing of the room and flooring idea. Good luck

The great thing about having a neutral background like this is that you can put almost any colour you like. For my bathrooms, I kept all the fixtures neutral* and just added colour with towels and small items. I like strong colour, so I have sets in petrol blue, burnt orange and strong green (these also link back to the bedrooms). Depending on how large the painted wall is, you could leave it neutral (maybe with a picture?) or go wild with wallpaper. I would tend to go with chrome for the various fixtures, since that is what you already have. For colours, perhaps something to make it feel warm, since it is north facing. Coral -> orange -> red shades, perhaps? It depends how strong a contrast you like. The best way is to either make up some paint samples to see what works, or get a couple of small items and see how well they go. You won't easily get a wide range of shades for bins, etc, so maybe keep those neutral. And remember that the same colour can look very different when it is shiny than when it is matte. If in doubt about an item, keep it neutral! * I had a tile shortage in one room, and added a deep strip of contrasting tiles in petrol blue. For an emergency decision, this has worked really well.

I suspect the cabinets are blue (grey is a meaningless word to desrcibe a multitude of desaturated colours, but most are actually blue/grey or blue/violet/grey or green/grey etc). I would balance the cool of the cupboards with the oak flooring (bottom image) and repeat oak items around the kitchen. 'Grey' can look sophisticated when balanced with other colours but a bit overbearing when it's overdone. A balance of 'warm' and 'cool' is always a good idea.
