Just wondering what the two types of cladding are please… I love the curves

Hi Julie,

Thanks for your interest in the project!

The ground floor is a white brick veneer wall (laid very skilfully by DMT Bricklaying) to form the curve.

The upper level is a mix of standing seam and powdercoated aluminium battens to form the screen around the roof terrace staircase.

Either make the extension smaller so that you still have room for a small window on the side, plus put glass doors in to the kitchen from that room. . Or knock through and make the living 2 in to a large kitchen diner, then you can have the extension whatever size you like. Personally i think knocking through is the only sensible solution.

Flat rooms always leak in the end so I'd say change it for a pitched room, maybe a metal roof with a shallow pitch rather then a full tile roof? claddig down the right side could look good, wither in wood or a metal. the main issue for me is the rather opressive nature to the extention and the front door. it doesn't look very welcoming at all, maybe you could add a porch or render it in a different colour to the rest? make it a grander statement around the door and change the garage door for somthing with some small windows in at the top?
