LIVING ROOM DESIGN HELP (pls)
We are really struggling with our small living room and would dearly love some assistance in how we should set up the room. It’s causing us so much stress!
This week the flooring is being replaced to match the flooring in the rest of the downstairs. We also have an electrician coming over as we would like to put some sockets on walls to hang a TV and possibly floating shelf.
Our struggle is working out where to put the sofa, armchair, and bio ethanol stove and make it work in the room! That will then determine which wall the TV goes on. At the moment it all just looks out of place.
The sofa is 210 x 80cms, armchair is 70x70cms

Pls if anyone can help with the lay out, it will help us out so much.

last yearI too would put the sofa on the wall opposite the door, where tv is at the moment. Move the lamp into the corner near window and then the armchair where the sofa is. Then put tv on the wall opposite (false wall) then maybe the ethanol fire underneath it, assuming the heat won’t affect the tv. Not sure how heat comes out of the fire. If it blows out towards the sofa then it should be okay. Then lay a nice rug on the floor to add more cosiness. Something like this, although this ethanol fire is wall mounted.

Comments (3)Are you sure you have the measurements correct. That's around 300 Feet long by 45 feet - The size of a football pitch! Comments (10)Thank you for your response. We had plans pretty finalised until we found out that we can keep just that long wall into the large space as it is a load-bearing. There is an opportunity to put a door in though. I am attaching what it looked like with all the walls that we can now remove. We have also been tinkering with ideas which I am adding as well. I added some comments on the plans as well. What we want to have is a dining area with a large table that seats 8-10 people. We want enough space for two people to work and cook in the kitchen. Thus, we were thinking of an island or an L-shape workspace coming out. We'd like to have a utility room to have space for all the cleaning utensils. Washer and Dryer will be upstairs in a separate laundry room. The living room is nothing formal but an area to relax and watch TV. last yearThe chair in the latest pics is good for conversation, just depends how many people in the house want to watch tv.
As the fire is round, i really think it needs to go in a corner which only leaves to the right of the window? That would mean, fire, tv and chair on the long wall which looks too tight?? Could you use the fire in your kitchen on the tv wall and then do as Siobhan and Sonia suggested?

Yes the bio fire is a little to tight/exposed all along the same wall. We have it currently here, but wonder are we hiding a focal piece? We could move it to the kitchen as we don’t need it really
