what’s the wall paint colour used here?

Not sure if it’s warm white or light green, we want to use something like to paint our open reception dining area which is south facing on one side and north facing on the other

Hi Tacey, The clean white form of the kitchen looks lovely, its a nice room. You definitely need lights above the wall units, this will bounce off the ceiling and into the room. At the risk of being too direct, throw the green paint away, you don't need it.. If you want colour in this room use the glass display cabinet and put some beautiful coloured glass in there. I sometimes put Japanese inspired flower arrangements on the middle of islands to add a modern structure and punch some colour in. The advantage to both of these methods is that you can change the colour scheme when ever you like. One idea that would transform the room: Put an American shutter up on the window. White with wide 80mm slats. Make sure the slat control is concealed, don't let them sell you a shutter with that awful rod down the middle. This will look amazing in this room. If you really fancy being adventurous mirror the window wall around the shutters above the splash back. You will need to make templates and have the mirror cut to those to ensure a perfect fit. Visually the room will double in size as your eye is tricked into seeing the furniture repeated as a reflection. The cupboards are a peachy orange colour and the floor a yellow colour and both are warm so I wouldn't choose yellow. Does she want it brightening or colour adding? Anything darker than what is there now will not brighten it but may make it look a bit more sophisticated perhaps? She could paint one wall a deep dark colour such as Olive as suggested by Jonathan, or paint all the walls a stone colour that would complement the cupboards.

Hi - the position of your room sounds like you will get some/very little light in the morning and afternoon, so I see why the lighting is not great! I would recommend to try Pavilion Gray - it has blue undertones, which will work will De Nimes. The other one to try is Elephant's Breath it is a little bit warmer. Note: I think adding a light blue colour may make the room look too cold especially if there isn't much light and if you are going to have furniture painted in De Nimes. Pavillion Gray: Elephant's Breath: Try out two paint samples first see if you like them and then if one is too cold or too warm, go to the next colour down on the farrow and ball chart - it the best process of elimination. The other thing you could do is layer up the lighting, you could try adding a floor lamp or a nice copper toned industrial desk lamp which offsets the De Nimes. Hope this helps! If you do decide upon pink - the more greyed-out, knocked-back, toned down pinks feel less sugary and can be a little less wearing on the eye than more full on PINK! But, if you have a room which feels dim, you may find you can afford to use a slightly more colourful pink than you might think, in order to show-up through the gloom. From top to bottom here the pinks become increasingly more colourful. It is possible to find a suitable pink to use in most every room : the secret is partnering the right amount of colourfulness to work with your available light.
