Hello finding blind or curtain for door & sidelight

Hi, I'm hoping you can help me find a slick contemporary solution to covering and blocking out light from the door & 1/2 sidelight in the attached picture.

I would definitely not use curtains, they will shrink the room! If you want to add a soft touch and texture you could use Roman Blinds p, which fold so you can keep them up like a pelmet. I would either use white linen, or something neutral like this one called Postcard Natural from Web Blinds. http://www.web-blinds.com/postcard-natural-roman-blind/ For the kitchen I would use a faux wood, wide slotted blind, which is moisture resistant, can be pulled right up or be tilted to provide just the right amount of privacy or shade. Hi Isidora Markovic Thank you for the images. I see what you mean - shutters could work. My concern about no door dressing is being seen when we're in the rooms at night with the lights on. Also for security reasons when away on holiday. We are in the countryside so the only night time lighting is from motion sensored security lighting fixed to the outside of my neighbours detached houses either side - sited some 10m and 20m respectively. One opening is south facing and the other south west, so I need to factor in being able to reduce sunlight. I think I'll research shutters. I have had them before in a previous house but they were chunky to suit the age of the house. Maybe there are slim line versions on the market now.

I would go for romans actually, but would add one-panel voile curtains to the recess so you can let all the light through while maintain privacy. I use the tension net rod from John Lewis, it’s perfect for light weight voiles and requires no screws or nails. I don’t want to comment on the colour as this is rather personal, and I’m known to change my mind in wall colours every few months! Good luck!

JC thank you again - it's actually your photos that we have saved on our wishlist so it really was a big help! New blinds sound absolutely brilliant so we're going to get in touch once the work starts and hopefully they can provide ours too. If you have any photos they would be most gratefully received, the mechanism you have to pull them all down sounds fab! I presume you've not had any problems and they're still going strong! At the risk of pushing my luck, do you have any idea of the cost of your lovely sliding doors, to have so much glass, compared to say bifold doors? We've decided we want large sliders to maximise the light, but I'm worried they will be loads more than bifolds which were in our original builder's quote, eek!! Thank you again, as you say this forum is unbelievably helpful and I'm eternally grateful to you all!!
