front door/ exterior advice please!

Need to replace the front door and generally would like to improve the external appearance of my 1960s semi… any advice on door type/colour or any other thoughts gratefully received.

Standard wood such as oak is not a great material for doors as they can warp and twist over time. Our engineered timber doors have a Kerto Q core, Sapele Mahogany lipping and Tricoya facings- this combination prevents these issues and means that there will be no draughts due to shrinkage. The overall result of an engineered timber door is a stronger and more durable door which holds paint for longer and doesnt require maintenance. We do our doors in a 44mm or a 54mm slab with an optional thermal core, but an engineered door is definitely superior in terms of durability.

I think your idea of changing the roof of the porch to a pitch one will really improve it. Then a new front door would brighten things up. Wood is so much nicer and then you can paint it any colour you choose. Composite doors look quite nice but have limited colours. I think once you’ve done that you will hardly notice the tiles. Lovely house by the way and I have drive envy - so much space!

The pipe into the drain, what's it from? If an appliance and this is going then the drain can go. If it's a drain from a sink that is staying then the drain will need to be moved. Not a difficult job for a builder.

You’re keeping the inner door? Would the inner door fit on the porch outside area which would keep the outside of the house in the same colour frames/doors and then have something more glass orientated inside so it’s not dark with the porch added. I do think that the dark beams aren’t in keeping with the oak coloured windows and doors though.
