Bed disaster! Advice desperately wanted!
Comments (143)Well, maybe when the kitchen stuff is out you can try different options (ones you want to try) in the wardrobe area and see what you like best. (Actually, there isn't that much stuff next to wardrobe.....up to you, though. Hmmmm. In the meantime, I think you could look for hardware for the cabinets and something for the end of the bed that isn't green....See MorePlease help!
Comments (9)I think it all works - but it is too heavy at one end. If you re-hang your door you could fit the bed on the opposite wall and paint the wall behind it as a feature wall. I'm not too sure of your wardrbobes though. If the bed moved would they fit on one side? If the only option you have is to keep the bed where it is (which is something I have to do in one of my bedrooms otherwise the bed is right against one wall) I would suggest making the window wall the feature wall and having statement curtains. For me what I really don't like is the blind colour with the headboard. I think a floral or a bird themed blind with a colour picked out as the feature wall would make your room look even more amazing. You have great taste - I love it all!...See MoreHelp needed on living room: rug, fireplace, cushions
Comments (12)First of all, you aren't clueless :) I would follow your gut and turn the couch to face the fireplace, put the TV on the oak box near the window, the armchair and side table over near the built in dresser, and the red cabinet between the two windows where the armchair was. I like both your pieces of art on the other side of the room. If the red cabinet is between the two windows, you might want to switch the vertical piece with the one that is on the wall above the dining table - just see how it looks. Actually, I think the bird painting could look really good above the fireplace - it will add visual height (as jonathan suggested) and brings some red to that side of the room and it has bits of black and charcoal to tie in the fireplace and the couch...... If you have the TV to the left of the fireplace, I'd move the map (I like it for personal reasons :). Anyway, you really want a mirror up there.... it's a bit tricky because the fireplace is off set. Something this shape would be fab because most other items in there are really angular, but this one is too big and the price is crazy: Otherwise maybe a couple of small mirrors that you can also off set and put in a group, which would also add height: I'd do three or five of different sizes and shapes. I actually like the rug size and colour - it ties in with the blinds and the taupe in two pieces of your art and has good texture. Add a few more cushions to the couch and armchair in a couple of different fabrics. Maybe some of these:...See MoreFresh look for bedroom
Comments (36)I agree that that duck egg blue would be worth considering or perhaps a grey/ mauve colour for the waIls and bed cover/ cushions . I would as others have suggested , certainly get rid of the picture above the chest and replace it with a large mirror with a decorative frame . It's not clear what the present lighting is or if you have a bedside table but a nice lamp either on the chest or beside table would help create a nice atmosphere . Also I would replace any curtains with a Roman blind in a complimentary fabríc with black out lining . If you look on line you can get these quite reasonably just make sure you get the measurements right . The blind should sit out side the window recess so when drawn up it gives a sort of pelmet effect...See Morekm kane
