Hide a TV in bedroom
Comments (14)Hi, To answer a couple of your questions. With a picture frame or mirror infront of a TV, there is a mechanism that moves the picture out of the way. The picture can move left or right, up or down. There are also versions that split the picture so that it goes both left and right. It is also possible to build a custom furniture unit below the TV to allow the picture to drop into this. One company that I've used that make these products is Future Automation. The quality of their products is excellent and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them. They also make a lift mechanism that will allow the TV to be hidden completely under the bed : ) Under bed lift....See MoreTV in a bedroom

Comments (7)We have a glass roof on the side extension and Velux windows in different rooms upstairs. Every 6 weeks or so, the window cleaner climbs on the side and cleans the glass on the extension, but generally it's pretty clean with the amount of rain we get around here. I've never cleaned the Velux and it looks fine after almost 4 years since they'd been installed. The problem with glass on the roof is actually temperature - it gets very hot inside when the sun is shining and quite cold otherwise. For the Velux in my den I had to buy an exterior blind to prevent the glass for heating, as I couldn't live with 28-30C during the summer (and another thing: you can actually see how the UV rays 'yellowed' the mounts of the pictures in my den; also, that red sofa is almost pink in places now). Also, the light is great unless you want to sleep... you'd really need blinds of some sort if you plan a bedroom in that extension. That being said, I love my skylights and am really glad we chose to have them and wouldn't give them up despite all the problems they've brought. Good luck!...See MoreOpen plan bedroom/bathroom yes or no
Comments (17)I think your design is great (love the wall finish!) as long as the toilet is closed off and ventilation is good. I think a bath in a bedroom can look great if it isn't the main bath in the house. We went to a lovely hotel which had a copper bath set on tiles in front of a fire. The hotel came and run the bath for you and lit the fire (think I could have managed the bath but not the fire at the time!). If it's not intended for daily practical use then it's great for a bit of me time or with your partner. I think most people who opt for a bath in the bedroom would then have a practical ensuite with shower or go for something similar to your design....See Morekseaborn
