Privacy wanted on full-length glass front door to house
Comments (8)You could put in stained glass of some type or perhaps a traditional etched glass or sandblasted design . The benefit of stained glass is it that it adds colour to the inside and lights up like a lantern when it is dark. You can still have a panel you can see through if you wanted. I would recommend getting both the window and the doorway done to complement one another, as that would be really lovely from both the inside and the outside. Your entrance seems fairly exposed as it is, so another alternative would be to fit a secondary door internally to your hallway with an obscure glass treatment that would give you privacy. Comments (5)Hi there! Is this the kitchen in your new home or just similar? Either way, stunning! You could definitely country-fy this space. Is it definitely white gloss and not beige? I know you don't want to change the kitchen itself but you are willing to change the work tops - how do you feel about changing just the door fronts? So not the carcasses at all, just the doors which is a lot less costly than replacing the kitchen. I think the worktop is great for a country style even if a little dark, but a classic design for country kitchens is definitely matt shaker units with either brushed silver knobs or shell style handles so this would make a huge difference! If not, it's still very possible! I Always say the two Ws of country style kitchen are Woods and Weaves! So baskets, trays, wood accents, woven decor etc. and can't beat a bit of cladding if you're wanting to decorate the walls! Keep to a similar colour to the kitchen so it doesn't stick out too much, keep it subtle. Some pics below for inspiration! I have tried to keep them to the same style that yours already is just to show you how it is possible to decorate around the pretty modern style....See MoreIdeas on improving Front Exterior without a Front Door please?
Comments (13)Good afternoon everyone! We are blown away by the amazing response we have had from this community, thank you everyone for your feedback. We are especially grateful to Jonathan for his valuable feedback.. the idea is genius and makes so much sense! Thank you so much Jonathan for taking out the time to help us! I have never seen my husband so impressed by an idea so much!! I have attached a couple more photos showing view of the garage from the front of the house along with the entrance gate itself into the property. I have also attached a copy of our floor plan. We would really appreciate your thoughts on what we could to with the garage and front exterior in terms of: Garage walls - What do you think about the brick work? Worth keeping, or should we clad? Garage roof - We currently have an unsightly metal sheet. We don’t want to fully rebuild but we’ve seen light weight roofing for garages which look like tiling. Any suggestions or thoughts on this? Front exterior - We’re looking to improve kerb appeal of the house from the front, any ideas welcome (cladding, paint, stone work?) Windows - these are the original single pane windows which unfortunately come with poor insulation. Any thoughts on what to do for those? Further to the front patio suggestion, is it worth installing an entrance which leads straight into the kitchen through the current ‘Study’? See floor plan. (We are planning to extend the current kitchen by a further 2.5m towards the rear garden). Any ideas, suggestions and comments will be really appreciated, thank you for your help!...See MoreWant to tile floor of small porch but not sure what to do with step?
