Hackney Victorian Refurbishment

This Victorian house, situated in a beautiful Hackney crescent, served as a vicarage at the time it was built. Situated in a conservation area, our clients wanted to adapt the house for a young family of three. The main challenge was to convince the planners to allow the demolition of a poorly constructed original extension. We achieved this by designing a sympathetic extension, with a modern idiom, using using salvaged bricks and combining existing materials (such as slate). The result was a beautiful house with four bedrooms, two of them en-suite, and a family bathroom, a study, a reception, a dining room, a kitchen, and a breakfast area.
