The owner wanted to revamp his dark basement into a functional family/fun area whilst retaining a more formal seating area next to the kitchen. Achieving a smooth transition from indoor to outdoor was key to give the illusion of space and light.

The transition from inside to out is seamless with polished concrete flooring throughout, warmed with a kemp rug and a natural cream sofa. The walls are clad in grass cloth, another wink to the outdoors as are the bright modern green elements of the bespoke joinery, using playful box shelving in different sizes and depths and feature lighting. The coffee table has a Perspex base which draws the eye to the garden, as if the table top is floating. The same transparent theme echoes through to the kitchen area with the stunning solid wooden table and bench tops. The wooden theme continues in the kitchen.

Every detail here is bespoke from the slick handle-less drawers and the matching joinery. The stripped back ceiling reveals the beams that have been painted white to enhance the sense of extra height whilst mirroring the beams of the conservatory roof.
