The Exquisite Heath Haven House

The Exquisite Heath Haven House

A Modern Multigenerational Home in Chislehurst Conservation Area

Set within the leafy Chislehurst Conservation Area, The Exquisite Heath Haven House replaces a dated 1950s dwelling with a refined family residence that feels both modern and timeless. Designed for a family of five, this two-storey home is the result of a fully integrated process — from planning and architecture to interiors, joinery, and final styling.

The house takes its cues from New England and Cape Cod architecture, with a sensitive mix of brick and weatherboard that grounds the building in its context. Its form was gently rotated on the site to maximise natural light, creating interiors bathed in sunshine and seamless views of the garden.

Inside, the spaces flow with clarity and ease:

Kitchen at the centre: A sculptural island, slender pendant lighting, and expansive glazing make the kitchen the heart of the home, opening effortlessly into dining and living areas.

Open-plan dining & living: Tailored joinery, layered lighting, and calm finishes shape an elegant backdrop for family life and entertaining, balanced by soft textures and curated furnishings.

Garden connection: Wide sliding glass doors dissolve boundaries, extending daily living into the landscaped garden with its mature trees and tranquil water feature.

Every detail was considered, from bespoke hall storage, kitchen larder and walk-in wardrobes to the selection of furniture, fabrics, and artwork. The interiors feel cohesive yet personal — modern and calm, with a warmth that reflects the family’s lifestyle.

This home is not only a testament to contemporary design within a conservation area but also to a holistic approach where architecture and interiors are conceived together. The result, beautifully captured by Tom Kurek, is a residence that nurtures family life, connects to nature, and stands gracefully within its setting.
