This is a tiny sun trap of a garden. When we first saw it was accessed by such steep and narrow steps it felt like going down a ladder. Our aim was to bring the house and the garden closer together creating comfortable and safe access that made a positive feature of the large level change. We used Cedar battens on the fencing, Cedar decking and a built in bench to create a compact but versitile space that feels much more part of the house.
