This large spare room in a family home was looking a bit dated and lacklustre. Our brief was to create a unique and bold, hotel feel for this grand spare bedroom.

With existing timber shutters to the period oversize windows, this room was a blank canvas to experiment with bold colour and to add a little quirkiness.

Choosing bold tropical print wallpaper as the backdrop to the sumptuous mustard velvet guest bed. We used a dark paint, in this light-filled room, to tie in with the tropical wallpaper.

Keeping with the tropical theme, we sourced eye-catching bedside lamps in the form of monkeys, and in contrast, a pair of simple, black scandi wall lights to compliment the scheme but blend into the busy wallpaper.

An oversize, fluffy, feather pendant light shade softens the space creating a gentle touch to the room.

This room is now a guest bedroom that has that luxury hotel feel, and that the clients are proud to have their guests stay in.
