This is a kitchen refresh project we recently completed in Playa Vista. The homeowners were content with the layout and enjoyed the already easy flow and open floor plan. By keeping the existing layout and cabinetry, but adding some updates we brought new life into this kitchen. The cabinets were refinished with Blue Toille and Simply White paint from Benjamin Moore, new Viatera countertops were installed, and adding Daltile's Revalia backsplash brought a nice pop of color and new style to this kitchen.

The pallet for this light and bright kitchen update was centered around the Berwyn design by Cambria. The Classic White finish on the cabinetry along with the Italino Classico antique mirror behind the mullions not only lightened up the space but makes it look and feel very sophisticated. The original island was triangular in shape and was replaced with a rectangular design to increase both seating capacity and storage space.

What is not to love about this kitchen?? Simple, full of charm, efficient layout..... and the perfect paint colors selected by ColorMoxie NW. Selecting white is much more complex than one might guess. The wrong white wall and cabinetry color could have forever looked "off" with the quartz counters and white subway tile. And that blue?? Swoon worthy Baltic Sea by Benjamin Moore. Hard to see in the photo, but there's a smidge of the same blue in the Marmoleum swirls (color: Sunny Day).

Do we have your attention now? ?A kitchen with a theme is always fun to design and this colorful Escondido kitchen remodel took it to the next level in the best possible way. Our clients desired a larger kitchen with a Day of the Dead theme - this meant color EVERYWHERE! Cabinets, appliances and even custom powder-coated plumbing fixtures. Every day is a fiesta in this stunning kitchen and our clients couldn't be more pleased. Artistic, hand-painted murals, custom lighting fixtures, an antique-looking stove, and more really bring this entire kitchen together. The huge arched windows allow natural light to flood this space while capturing a gorgeous view. This is by far one of our most creative projects to date and we love that it truly demonstrates that you are only limited by your imagination. Whatever your vision is for your home, we can help bring it to life. What do you think of this colorful kitchen?

Inspiration can come from many things. In the case of this kitchen remodel, it’s inspiration came from the handcrafted beauty of the homeowner’s Portuguese dinnerware collection and their traditional elegant style.
How do you design a kitchen that’s suited for small intimate gatherings but also can accommodate catered parties for 250 guests? A large island was designed to be perfect to cozy up to but also large enough to be cleared off and used as a large serving station.
Plenty of storage wraps around the room and hides every small appliance, leaving ample spare countertop space. Large openings into the family room and solarium allow guests to easily come and go without halting traffic.

Cabinet color: LEFT Garden Swing (Behr), close to Lark Green (SW)
RIGHT Jade Mountain (Behr)
We are using the color on the left, but choosing Sherwin Williams Emerald paint; hope they will color match. If not we'll go with Lark Green (in the small paint chip on the left.)
