Victorian sitting room transformation with bespoke joinery and modern lighting. Louvre shutters used to create space and light in the sitting room whilst decadent velvet curtains are used in the dining room. Stunning artwork was the inspiration behind this room.

This formal Living Room was inspired by the Sussex Downs, countryside and artists. The ribbed detailing which runs throughout this room, from the shutters, to the handmade rug, central feature chandelier, the feature mirror, table lamp and fireplace tiles, all inspired by the doric columns and regency architecture of Brighton & Hove.

This large family home in Brockley had incredible proportions & beautiful period details, which the owners lovingly restored and which we used as the focus of the redecoration. A mix of muted colours & traditional shapes contrast with bolder deep blues, black, mid-century furniture & contemporary patterns.

Oak Mountain Custom Woodwork
this client owns a Victorian Home in Essex county NJ and asked me to design a fireplace surround that was appropriate for the space and hid the television. The mirror you see in the photo is actually a 2-way mirror and if you look closely at the center section of the mantle, the remote speaker for the TV is built in. The fretwork pattern adds a lovely detail and the super columns (column on top of column) fit perfectly in the design scheme.
Landry & Arcari Rugs and Carpeting
Designer Amanda Reid selected Landry & Arcari rugs for this recent Victorian restoration featured on This Old House on PBS. The goal for the project was to bring the home back to its original Victorian style after a previous owner removed many classic architectural details.

Soft green walls of the family living room add a calming, fresh feeling to the space, complimenting the white woodwork and stone fireplace mantle. The timber floor and rich traditional Victorian rug add warmth to the room, added to by the antique mirror above the fireplace. Renovation by Absolute Project Management

This reception room, bathed in the rich, deep hue of Obsidian Green, exudes a sense of sophistication and modernity. The color choice is bold and enveloping, creating a striking backdrop for the white ceiling and intricate cornicing that adds a classical touch. The room is thoughtfully curated with a mix of contemporary and traditional elements.
In the first view, the plush, off-white sofa adorned with velvet cushions in mustard and rust invites relaxation and comfort. The sideboard, a crisp white, contrasts with the dark walls, topped with a blue-and-white porcelain urn that echoes classic aesthetics. The flat-screen television is mounted unobtrusively, blending seamlessly into the modern lifestyle.

This 1901 Victorian was a long awaited dream home. The owners wanted a house that was comfortable, yet retained an historic feel. From a complete kitchen remodel to the new master suite, every aspect of this 3,300 SF house now confirms its Victorian roots. "The result", stares owner Willie Simmons, "is a true melding of what I wanted and her (Heather's) absolute incredible design knowledge."

These rooms are now more for viewing than for sitting and the family photos are being archived. Most all of the furniture reupholstered or repaired and a new carpet was installed to give the room a more updated feel. Matt Wittmeyer photographer
