This beautiful screened porch has a modified gable roof allowing more light and air into this spacious screened porch. The light and airy feeling in this Charlotte screened porch is carried on with the lovely bright furnishings and festive lighting. The white trim and railings make for a cohesive bright feeling. A perfect place for reading a book, sipping wine with friends, a girls spa party or a cozy evening with the one you love. The tongue and groove ceiling is a bright glossy white to continue reflecting all of the gorgeous light for a bright shaded outdoor retreat.

The cupola of the screen porch brings light into the center of the large space. A strong wind bent the weather vane, but the Owners decided to leave it as is.

We added this screen porch extension to the rear of the house. It completely changes the look and feel of the house. Take a look at the photos and the "before" photos at the end. The project also included the hardscape in the rear. Interior of porch with cathedral paneled ceiling. Finecraft Contractors, Inc. Soleimani Photography

A charming beach house porch offers family and friends a comfortable place to socialize while being cooled by ceiling fans. The exterior of this mid-century house needed to remain in sync with the neighborhood after its transformation from a dark, outdated space to a bright, contemporary haven with retro flair.

For this screened porch in Westport, Connecticut, Caroline Kopp chose a large trestle table which echoes the beadboard ceiling. Steel side chairs, softened by woven host chairs and blue pillows, provide a comfortable place for guests to sit. Teak lanterns and potted ferns beautify the table which has an antique boat lantern hanging over it, allowing evening meals and games after the sun has gone down. Rikki Snyder

The screened-in porch on this mid-century beach house was updated while remaining in sync with the rest of the neighborhood. Raising the ceiling gave the space a more open feeling and made room for ceiling fans with light boxes to illuminate balmy summer evenings. Beadboard panels on the outside walls and ceiling added a vertical rhythm while maintaining the mid-century ambiance.
