“The whole process of working with Husala was perfect. It was so easy, after an initial meeting Lara really took my vision on board and gave me her professional advice on specific fabrics that would fit what I wanted but also be more ecologically conscious. She posted samples of fabrics to be COVID safe to my home which were exactly what I had in mind from shade to how they felt, this enabled me to choose the perfect fit. Lara was constantly in touch whilst creating the curtains so I could be fully involved in the process. “K&A Cox made new blinds for our bedroom. We visited their premises and were given help and advice on the kinds of fabric available and given swatches to take home to try against the walls. At an agreed time Rob came and measured the windows. A quote was provided and accepted and the blinds were made and fitted a couple of weeks later. They were fitted with minimal mess and we have been extremely pleased with them.”

When choosing curtains, consider their function, whether for privacy, light blocking, or decor enhancement. Take into account the room’s style, choosing curtains that complement the overall decor in terms of colour, pattern, and fabric texture. Measure the window accurately to ensure the curtains are the right size and length, considering whether you prefer floor-length or sill-length curtains. Select curtain fabrics based on light-blocking abilities, durability, and ease of cleaning.
In general, your curtains width should be double the width of your windows. For length, this depends on if you want floor length, sill length curtains or below sill. For sill length curtains, they should sit 1cm above the windowsill. Below length curtains generally sit around 15cm under the sill. For floor length curtains, ensure there is at least a 1cm gap between them and the floor. If your window has a radiator underneath it, the curtains should stop around 2-3cm above the radiator to avoid heat being absorbed by the curtain.
Simply measure from where you want your blinds to start (the rail), to where you want your blinds to finish. Add 10-15 cms to this to prevent light bleed. To ensure your blinds fit correctly, take measurements at 3 equal points across your window and use the longest size.
