“I used The Glasgow Shutter Company this summer to fit shutters in my bedrooms. I basically chose them on no more than how their website looked (with my fingers crossed!). “Hi I had an amazing experience with glitter Pelmets Linda and Michael were lovely and the service was so professional and quick.They came and measured my bay window on a Sunday lunchtime and my Pelmets were completed and fitted that week .the pelmets are very well made and the silver glitter fabric is of excellent quality and really sparkly ,I would definitely order from them again . When choosing curtains, consider their function, whether for privacy, light blocking, or decor enhancement. Take into account the room’s style, choosing curtains that complement the overall decor in terms of colour, pattern, and fabric texture. Measure the window accurately to ensure the curtains are the right size and length, considering whether you prefer floor-length or sill-length curtains. Select curtain fabrics based on light-blocking abilities, durability, and ease of cleaning.
In general, your curtains width should be double the width of your windows. For length, this depends on if you want floor length, sill length curtains or below sill. For sill length curtains, they should sit 1cm above the windowsill. Below length curtains generally sit around 15cm under the sill. For floor length curtains, ensure there is at least a 1cm gap between them and the floor. If your window has a radiator underneath it, the curtains should stop around 2-3cm above the radiator to avoid heat being absorbed by the curtain.
Simply measure from where you want your blinds to start (the rail), to where you want your blinds to finish. Add 10-15 cms to this to prevent light bleed. To ensure your blinds fit correctly, take measurements at 3 equal points across your window and use the longest size.
