“Jill was very helpfull when I was shopping for my window treatments. She didn't want just to push me something. She helped me to choose the best product for my home and worked with my budget. “The window treatments shown as examples: "A Lighter Touch At The Window" and "Flat Roman Shade as Valance" were part of Linda's Masterworks design, creativity, and follow through. I definitely enjoyed working with Linda and continue to enjoy the results! Her ability to discern my taste, find amazing fabrics and educate me on window options, plus her incredible color talent, her timely follow-through on ordering and hanging the window treatments, and her pleasant and capable demeanor makes her an excellent choice for project design and completion. When choosing curtains, consider their function, whether for privacy, light blocking, or decor enhancement. Take into account the room’s style, choosing curtains that complement the overall decor in terms of colour, pattern, and fabric texture. Measure the window accurately to ensure the curtains are the right size and length, considering whether you prefer floor-length or sill-length curtains. Select curtain fabrics based on light-blocking abilities, durability, and ease of cleaning.
In general, your curtains width should be double the width of your windows. For length, this depends on if you want floor length, sill length curtains or below sill. For sill length curtains, they should sit 1cm above the windowsill. Below length curtains generally sit around 15cm under the sill. For floor length curtains, ensure there is at least a 1cm gap between them and the floor. If your window has a radiator underneath it, the curtains should stop around 2-3cm above the radiator to avoid heat being absorbed by the curtain.
Simply measure from where you want your blinds to start (the rail), to where you want your blinds to finish. Add 10-15 cms to this to prevent light bleed. To ensure your blinds fit correctly, take measurements at 3 equal points across your window and use the longest size.
Any fabric can be used, but generally the most common types of fabric used are cotton, silk, linen, polyester, and combinations of these due to their lighter weight and insulating properties.
