With Progressive Design's help, we renovated an 1890s Victorian semi-detached house in St. Albans. The property was in need of total refurbishment, with no proper bathroom, no modern kitchen and limited electrics. It was a big job. The Progressive team did the whole job, building a very sturdy, insulated, and well decorated new home. Together we installed a loft, built a small extension, re-laid all the floors (including underfloor heating), re-rendered and plastered all the walls, built two new staircases, installed a modern kitchen. We are left with a stunning home, with Victorian charm but all the modern amenities. Along the way, we received many compliments about our builders. They work hard, are smart and respectful, and (of course) very talented. This is a family of builders who take pride in their work, do the right thing, and strive to help you accomplish your vision. “Studio Jayga Having met with a number of high end architects to do the plans for reconfiguring the ground floor of our house to create an open plan kitchen, garage conversion with utility room and downstairs cloakroom, we decided to go with Mahdi at Studio Jayga. From the very first meeting it was apparent to us that not only was he the best value for money but his eye for detail was second to none. Our project took a long time for completion (simply down to both my husband and I working), however Mahdi stayed with us for the duration- over a year! He was always at the end of the phone whenever we needed to discuss ideas- there are many times when we FaceTimed so that he could look at the project and offer solutions to problems that we couldn’t have overcome ourselves. He also regularly made on-site visits to ensure everything was going to plan. He even provided ideas for our bathroom restructure which wasn’t included in the job.
