“I have no hesitation in recommending Berkeley Place to anyone undergoing any major home improvement or renovation works. We renovated a house in Clifton together with Nick’s team remotely from abroad. They were able to oversee the entire project and manage the works according to a very tight timeline. The team at Berkeley Place, in particular Lucy, were incredibly responsive and attentive, a real pleasure to work with. They also pulled together a great trade team of skilled professionals to carry out the various strands of work required. We would not have pulled off such a high spec renovation without them”

“Iain came as a recommendation from a friend and having inspected other work he was undertaking in the locality we decided he was the man for our job. With the design and specification process already completed we used him and his team to do a back to bare walls refurbishment of a 1960’s detached house in Bath. The project included three single storey extensions, replacement windows and roofs, generally upgrading to current standards, a full refit and redecoration, outside terracing and landscaping. Due to the sale of our previous home and wanting to have the works done whilst the property was empty, Iain had to work to an extremely tight timetable. He achieved this with an enormous amount of effort and great teamwork from his trusty team and regular sub-contractors. Throughout the process Iain remained calm and unflustered. Problems were overcome and changes were incorporated. The attitude was always we can do this rather than looking for reasons why things couldn’t be done. During the process we had a number of our own specialist sub-contractors and Iain developed a great working relationship with all of them, something which certainly isn’t always the case on building sites. Post completion the inevitable bits of snagging have cropped up and Iain has always been on hand to sort them quickly and efficiently. Given our extremely compressed schedule things could have gone disastrously but with Iain and Rooted Design & Build we picked the right contractor - it really couldn’t have gone much better!”
