Pendant lighting - do I really need 3
Comments (12)How about a compromise between the two options? Instead of 3 individual pendant lights which I think might look a bit cluttered being so close together you could have a single multi-light pendant. This would visually register as a single fixture but gives the light and look of multiple pendants? I've quickly scouted a few different style options at different price points but there's loads of similar ones to choose from. Comments (8)Generally, I would suggest odd numbers of pendants look better. I also think 4 pendants over a 3m island may look a little cramped, but to some extent this depends on the size of the pendants. The island in the attached photo is approx. 2.6m and spaced approximately 0.8m apart. It may have been possible that the ideal layout for the lighting was not possible due to the positioning of floor/ceiling joists above. However, if this was the case, the builder or electrician should have discussed this with you. I would discuss with the builder/electrician to see whether there was any rationale why the holes have been made where they are, and if there is no major issue, request they are repositioned to suit a 3 pendant configuration positioned centrally. Finally, if one side is going to feature a breakfast bar, perhaps the pendant lighting could be positioned more to this area. However, to avoid this looking accidental, it would need to be significantly offset from the central line....See MoreHelp - lighting for large rectangular table (single power outlet)
Comments (25)Thank you! Very clever. Hmm. I have no idea - ha ha! What are the white lights. I'm slightly concerned that the whites won't match. There are so many whites. The coppers might not match either. Could just do 5 mediums at different heights or 3 mediums and a few small - all in the striped. Not sure. They would be in a straight line as that's how the track is. What do you think might look best? My table would be going across the room and is bigger than that table so lights wouldn't be as close to the table. Do you think all stripes would be too much? Thanks for doing those ideas - really appreciate it....See MorePendant Lighting for extension
