What is the corner border piece called?

We are looking at doing our shower with this tile, but our contractor is saying that he cannot guarantee the corners will look right. This corner piece is a great solution to our corner problem. :)

It looks like the contractor used a slab to finish the corners on this project.

The fact that your plot is not a rectangle is a good thing. It will mean that you have take a more creative view to designing it which is what all small gardens need! A scaled plan is the best way to design any space but this one in particular will really need it. Look up how to survey it accurately and make a scaled plan. Do not put it on squared paper but on the biggest scale you are able to manage. Then play around! Cut out pieces of paper to represent a good sized seating area, a shed etc. and play with where they can go and what shape they are. If that isn't really working for you then commission a professional garden designer! We can't all be a master of everything! Have fun!

I think it looks amazing now you have moved the sofa. I agree with Jules, the footstool on the left is better as it breaks up the space between the kitchen and seating area. I would put a tall plant in though. This will help to lead the eye out into the garden which will make the space feel bigger. I would actually change the feature wall to a mirror as this will reflect in more light from outside and make the space feel bigger again. I think the world map wall decoration would lookabove the fire place, pictures and ribbon and all. I would also agree with the suggestion to change the curtain to something lighter. Note regarding the curtain rail this should either be just above the window line on just under the line of the ceiling. This helps the rail blend in with the existing lines instead of breaking up the space between the window and ceiling which makes the ceilings feel lower than they are. The kitchen and parkay flooring is to die for! Such an amazing space, I'm sure you're very proud!
