My wife and I detest winter and head for the canaries every year for a month or two. This year we leave in mid September and will be back by the end of November ( Unfortunately ). We have reached the point where we now have to consider selling everything and making the permanent move. Let's face it, we haven't even had a summer yet !!

To add to my earlier comment, I think my individualism epitomises the very essence of being a true Brit. I'm not a slave to trends, just go with my heart and hope my design ideas will come together in some sort of coherent way. There's pride in that in spades, and we're a proud nation, aren't we?!

When humidity is high. I can just about live with 38 degree C but not quite so if the humidity is at 90%! Funnily enough, I came from a place with summers like this - a previous British colony in Far East Asia!

I once read a story about an old woman, who was listening to a younger woman complain about how her husband left his whiskers in the sink day after day. The old woman, who was a widow, softly reminded her that those whiskers meant her husband was alive and still with her. She, the older woman, would love to wash the whiskers of her husband down the drain every morning because that would mean her husband was still with her. So, when my husband leaves me stranded on the toilet with no toilet paper, instead of getting angry, I remember to be thankful he is still here to grab the last piece off the roll.
