Kitchen paint colours - we need help!!
Comments (31)I'm so sorry, but I've only just seen your posts and all your hard work with the mock ups!!! I didn't get notified. Thank you so much this is so helpful!!! Seeing the Photoshop mocks ups makes us realise we don't want to go two tone on the edge cabinets and like the lighter grey. Unfortunately the job hood needs to stay as we can't get it out. We would love to have a modern one added, it's just not doable without taking all the units out. We have painted the window wall which looks fab (well we think so!), picture below. We're considering ammonite or cornforth on the outside cabinets (posts included) and downpipe on the island. We're not 100% convinced the downpipe will work? What do you think? Is there any possibility anyone could use their amazing skills to demonstrate these colours please? outside cupboards ammonite and island downpipe outside cupboards and island ammonite and if anyone can really be bothered the same as above but with cornforth instead of ammonite! Thank you for your time!...See MorePaint colour for Kitchen cupboards and tiles?
Comments (13)Hi Tricia. I agree with the other comments that painting kitchen cabinets is a lot of work and I don’t think you would be better pleased with the end result. Some cabinets can take painting better than others. For a different idea you could extend the wall cabinets almost up to the ceiling by either finding extra wall units or if you’re handy with diy creating them yourself. Then replace doors with some mdf panels which you can then prime/paint yourself (see pics below for the kinda thing I was thinking of). Mdf doesn’t cost all that much but if you’re not confident with cutting or drilling hinge holes then a local joiner could do this for you. Wouldn’t normally recommend painting tiles but if it’s just short term then it’s maybe worth a try. I wouldnt use any wood panels behind a gas hob tho, might be a fire risk....See MoreCottage kitchen dilemma: Red quarry tiles & exposed stone
Comments (11)I would think about how to make best use of earthy materials, I'm not convinced the strong blue is the right thing. Is it possible to post lots of picture that show different views of the room? I agree about pale worktops, essential for reflecting light. The other thing to consider is that the floor tiles are quite a strong colour and therefore I wouldn't put too strong a blue in there, rather a duller dark blue/black or softer warm greys. The bottom image with warm greys and small amounts of dark blue/black is lovely. I like Sonia's images, they feel right for the materials you are working with. Here are some more....See MoreWhere to start with house reno
