I think you can defiantly achieve that look. I quite like the banana shapes sofa as I think it gives an extra dimension to the room I think if it was me I'd maybe remove the TV unit and everything else then play with placing the sofa since its your biggest piece you can place everything else around it. I'd definitely keep the window free from obstruction though. Especially if your wanting dark colours you could benefit from all the light you can get. I think artwork can be so expensive and if your anything like me you never find exactly what you want so letting the kids so it is a way to rectify that. I actually really like your room I think it will look fab

We've just put all oak on and love it - even in the room with wooden floor. We didn't like the white/oak combo. I don't think it would be a problem with the black either.

Thanks! I know how your sister feels Sonia! I thought I’d pre-thought about most things and had ideas and like I’d been planning it for a year before we actually got plans drawn up! And then they throw questions at you, you hadn’t considered! Will have a proper look at those colours you’ve suggested once I’m on my laptop! It’s so exciting tho Ellie right?? I love it! I’ve actually chosen most things I think, almost before the builders were here! Lol! Our kitchen got ordered this week so unfortunately due to a summer rush won’t be here till the 17th Oct Instead of the 2-3 week lead time there had been for months previously! I do love the green in the first pic - can’t find out what it is tho, does anyone know?? I think we’d get the same effect as the sun shines on that wall in the afternoon/evening (taken just now!) Also will have a delay for the floor as the concrete needs 75 days to dry out before they’ll put down the latex prior to the LVT! Doh! 1 day/mm!! Did not know that before! Ha! But overall we’ve been very lucky and haven’t really had many delays!

Thank you all. MaryLee H - flooring will be a neutral carpet. Having done the ceiling white, I’m not redoing it! Neck and arms are protesting at the thought!!! I wondered about a slight pink white (the lighter throw colour) with one darker plum wall as per throw.... perhaps that would be too much. The greens look good. I did a similar green in conservatory which is very calming and fresh (Edward Bulmer’s ‘eau de nil’) Also doing Little Green Portland stone and Portland stone pale not he exterior. The curtains are inherited from previous owner and have to stay unless I do a roller blind on the arched one. Currently there are Swish plastic curtain tracks for both. No room for a pole or Romans.
