need help designing a open plan kitchen, living, dining area
Comments (6)Hello Jeannette, what a lovely project! I've worked on a number of bungalows and they have their own unique challenges. Making the spaces work for our needs today, and for your own family needs have to be the priorities. I would suggest you appoint an interior designer before thinking in detail about the kitchen. An interior designer will find out how you want to use the space and come up with clever floor plan that is workable and beautiful. This is going to be a really important investment for you. I would love to help - I couldn't advise in any detail without seeing the property and of course, without meeting you. Very best wishes Yasmin....See MoreNeed help with furnishing a weirdly shaped living room! (in Zurich)
Comments (4)Hi. Have you ever considered a real interesting eye catching piece of art work to really brighten up an area, I think a select piece of art would really make the space stand out, add interest, colour, texture and add a great talking point to the room.... Please check out my website if you like the idea and please get in contact, commission work is also welcomed so if you like a particular style I can do in a select colour palette and size as an original piece…..I’m also able to produce all original paintings in high end print format, in any size same or smaller than the original. (all within proportions to the original so not to cause distortion) All prints shown are Giclee prints onto soft textured fine art media. All prints come with a white border these can be made to measure too. So lots of options, www.guigsart.co.uk...See MoreHelp! How do we light our double height kitchen/ dining snug area plea
Comments (11)Hi Hansbans73 Your project in the visuals looks amazing and I’m very jealous! I feel that the double height roof space and pitch definitely merits having a feature pendant, as it appears the pitch is central and so will offer a complete feel to the space. Downlights in the high ceiling will make the space feel too open in my opinion and, ideally, you want something that’ll sew each of the spaces together. If you could build a platform on the pitch to take a pendant, and you like contemporary styles, I would consider something like the Harco Loor Big Bubbles pendant (top photo below). It would fill the space nicely but wouldn’t obstruct your awesome view from the balcony, as you can see through it. Of course, decoration is subject to taste and there are plenty of other options - multiple pendants like the Muuto E27 pendants (bottom photo below) can be hung at varying heights and don’t cost the earth. Finally, adding in some 5amp sockets for complimentary table lamps and floor lamps will give your living space versatility. I hope this helps and look forward to seeing the final pictures! Comments (2)First congratulations on your baby! You didn't mention if the kitchen would stay. If the kitchen goes, I'd keep the room as open as possible, which means compact kitchen and thus real thoughtful planning. You'd like to keep an eye on your kid the upcoming years. What's on the wall opposite the stove? (a floorplan with measurements would help a lot to receive great ideas, btw) I'd place a dining table in your kitchen. This way you can have a cot in the living area. And in about 6 to 8 months, your little one will be sitting with you at the table, making a mess. Note: your tv is way too high (no neckpain while watching?) and too large. And is this the only reception room aka living room aka great room? :)...See MoreSean B
