Comments (24)After having seen the style and look you like, although we spoke about dark cabinets initially, with the floor you have chosen which would compliment any style, how about considering a natural wood like worktop? If you would like a light, and airy look and feel to the kitchen, neutral coloured cabinets would suit the look of your kitchen, paired with a slightly darker splashback to add that luxe feel back to the kitchen. This combination of a darker splashback, with wood and then lighter cabinets would also work well with your accent gold bar stools in the first image you showed. Keeping the foundation of your kitchen balanced and adding accessories such as gold bar stools and some decorative elements to give it that sparkle and glint that you like! (featured here is our petrol blue splashback panel, however I feel our blueberry panel would also work really well with this combination)...See MoreViews on kitchen copper splashback with very dark grey cabinets
Comments (12)I agree with Dual Designs that your colour scheme has a potential to look great, and I think dark(er) kitchens are here to stay for a good, good while. Copper adds a warmth and a textured softness of sorts (if metals can be soft, of course, be we are talking comparative feel of the space). I'd probably go for muted kind of navy(ish) or very dark (and also muted) green rather than slate OR black, but a very matte very dark slate might work the best. And yes, pick what will work for you and what you will love, unless you are planning to sell very soon....See MoreDark grey kitchen/living room - wall paint colour?
Comments (0)I have a small open plan kitchen/living room that I'm struggling to settle on a paint colour for. The cabinets take up most of the wall space in the kitchen area and are a dark, reflective grey with a minimalist design (similar to: https://i.pinimg.com/originals/d0/4d/69/d04d69bab448e2a5d141e63c1bd8b0f2.jpg) The countertops are a white granite speckled with grey and black. My key colour is orange which I have for some appliances and small things. I've put up a backsplash of simple white tiles that covers the walls about a foot above the countertops. The living room furniture is a mix of dark grey/black fabrics and metal work with mid-tone natural wood (similar to the first on the left here: http://floorsandldn.wpengine.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/Swatch1.jpg). The flooring throughout is in the same tone of wood. I would like to be bold and go with a dark grey (e.g. Ink from Neptune https://www.neptune.com/interior-decor/paint/ink-paint/) on the walls, but I'm having trouble finding a tone that will work with the cabinets, which change so much depend on what light they're reflecting. This is making me think I should instead go for a mid- or light grey, but I don't want to tone it down so much that it loses the impact and ends up not working! I'm keeping the ceiling and skirting boards white and using a lot of light/white cushions and throws to stop it becoming too dark. Any help much appreciated as it's been far too long I've been dithering over this!...See More- 7 years ago
