Comments (7)I would paint your bed and ivory with a glaze over it ,then it would use texture and layer neutral sheets blankets and pillows since the room is so small ,hang curtains as high as you can and as far out from the window frame as you can to make the window look larger and taller. if you lighten up the bed with paint as suggested the room will look bigger as well ,then you can use side tables in mirror finish for some drama or round with a cloth top even ...with the room being small I would stay neutral and you bedside lamp shade needs to be at a hight that you can lay in bed and read under. The light.too small of a lamp will make them seem out of place ...try a textured soft larger neutral rug under your bed ,larger is better...See MoreRedecorating bedroom with fitted wardrobes - help!
Comments (10)We're all for a bit of hard work, and would definitely paint the cupboards. You are right not to use F&B, it's an inferior paint compared to dulux, and not correct for your purposes, being Eggshell finish. Dulux Trade Satinwood is far better, gives a better finish and is hardwearing. ( It's also more expensive than F&B i'm afraid, but you get what you pay for ). I'd paint the cupboards in a pale grey and replace the knobs. Give the area behind the bed a good dark grey finish, to help with making your choice of headboard really stand out. Comments (6)Hi Johnleh, I've just read through your request and I think I can give you some advice! I like the idea of the purple and the paint you have chosen, but how about trying mushroom coloured curtains? If you got them in a good quality, thick material they would look really smart and also complement the fig paint. If it is an option, wooden flooring could work really well - it's what most trendy flats have and it also has a grown up apartment look. I would also suggest adding a free standing plant in one of the corners - this will brighten the room and introduce another colour. You can get a reasonably priced one of these (plus a simple pot to put it in) from places like homebase: https://goo.gl/NCpNsC. Oak furniture would also look great - to tie in with the style of the property, you could even get some in a 1950s style (or good quality vintage) - it's right on trend at the moment. I'm thinking a chair/table with spikey legs. Hope this helps! (chairs are both from Swoon Editions: www.swooneditions.com)...See MorePlease help me with my bedroom?
Comments (18)Thanks Carolina..love the way you've used the photo..very impressive . So many ideas to look at and I think I have a mirror exactly like that somewhere. Lovely bedside tables too..thanks so much. Minnie great colours ..I like those patterns and fabrics a lot. Ive been thinking about a bed end stool..will keep an eye out for one. The shade is new and so much bigger than I thought it would be..should have measured. I kind of like the bohemian look of it to be honest ..thanks so much ....See Moreharrietebbrell
