I’m very curious where you found the navy shutters absolutely love this bathroom and it’s elegant simplicity.

Using half height shutters on your windows sections may look awkward since you don't have a break in the glass like you would on a sash window. Leaving the shutters always on the glass will reduce the light substantially, even with the louvres open. Because your window is all curved, with five divisions, you will need 5 Roman blinds. You could get over the farff of raising and lowering each blind daily by installing an electric remote controlled system. Light loss would be minimal if the blind pleats are on the small side. What about using pleated blinds like Duette or Plisse by Luxaflex on each section. They stack up very tight to the headrail and come in a good range of colours. Teamed up with a pelmet (4-5" deep) of a patterned fabric, you'd have maximum light and night-time privacy.

We love our shutters! We live on a busy street and the shutters give us the privacy we need, and also smarter up our windows. We have wanted shutters for ages, and received a few quotes which were all so different, but too expensive for us. A couple of months ago we came across a company www.shuttershack.co.uk they are the sister company of a already established company. Anyway we ordered ours as DIY shutters which saved us literally ££'s. We have fitted ourselves. But they do offer a fitting service, which still seems a lot cheaper than other companies. Happy days.

Absolutely that's why when I make a trip to the UK I make sure I've decided what colours I'm going to use and purchase there. Unfortunately I'm dithering on the colour of the shutters as my driveway at the moment has awful grey gravel which I will change to a creamy colour so it makes the front of the house look quite drab.

Elizabeth, don't be mislead thinking anyone different to Howdens, B&Q or Ikea will be more expensive. We are a small joinery and kitchen company based in Staffordshire and like for like we compete with the 3 major sellers above. As a word of caution Howden's worktops are cheap and nasty. They do not have a laminate backing on them. You open a dishwasher door and the heat from the appliance goes straight up into the underside of the worktops. It's not long before the quality, or lack of, shows up. If you're looking for a decent worktop look for a Bushboard brand e.g. Prima, Omega or Odyssey or Axiom by Formica or Egger.
