Hi Elizabeth Thanks for your question and glad you like the chair! The crocodile skin effect is part of the surface of the seat and back rest, made from laminated wood. Apparently these were often made in Poland in the 1920s and shipped here where the frames were made - so I am told at least!

Hi Zoe, thanks for your reply. You have inspired me to finish painting my chair. Here are a couple of photos of it where you will see the Made in Poland details on the underside.

Hi. The room appears quite dark atm so I'd go for a warm neutral on the walls, perhaps try farrow and ball or little Greene. For the wallpaper Maybe a subtle pattern in a metallic to bounce some light or a grasscloth effect paper to add texture. I'd lighten the sofas up with throws and cushions in different textures and patterns. Do you prefer a neutral scheme or colour? Have you considered recovering your seat pads on the chairs to lighten them up and maybe add pattern? It's easy with a staple gun! A vase of faux flowers on the table would look great (I love the hydrangea from Oka!) unless of course you can afford real each week and a plant elsewhere. Agree re pendant light over dining table and lamps to cosy the space. Perhaps a bigger rug for the living area to zone the seating space and one for the reading area. Is it also possible to shorten the curtain pole on the main window? For accessories do look at chrome, glass etc as they will bounce light

Hi everyone I am well aware that I haven’t updated you on this room but as it’s often the case things didn’t go according to plan. Everything was in place and we were ready for the bed to go together, only to found that when the removal guys took our bed apart they broke one of the bolts into the frame. So we had to admit defeat and buy a bed base until we can have someone look at it. I need to tweak it a bit more, change the lamps even but for now its ready for business. Thank you! I can get some F&B samples to try. I absolutely love the dark colours and I think that would be better. However, my hubby might disagree as we have just had the area painted white (had the whole house painted white!) so what colour would you suggest for the sofa, rug and lighting if we kept with the white walls, white TV unit to create a warm snuggly feel, please? I would lose the armchair and then push the big sofa along in that direction. Then pull the 2seater away from the wall a bit. I can’t see your curtains properly but maybe add a little more of the red for cushions, pair these with textured ones and add a throw over the arm of the sofa. A rug would help although size may be tricky, if it is maybe a carpet remnant and have the edges whipped. I’d add a vase of stems on the table, preserved or good faux. Perhaps a floor lamp opposite the entrance door The room could probably also do with more art Are they speakers in the alcoves?
