POLL: What's the colour of your sofa?
Comments (9)I've braved white! I love it because it's so versatile allowing me to change things up whenever I fancy it. The key is to have a second set of slipcovers. I wish more companies did slipcovered sofas, pet owners like me appreciate being able to keep funky smells at bay. I would imagine parents of teenagers would too! ;)...See MoreWhat paint colour have they used at Dean Street Townhouse- its a sage

Comments (12)Hi Tacey, The clean white form of the kitchen looks lovely, its a nice room. You definitely need lights above the wall units, this will bounce off the ceiling and into the room. At the risk of being too direct, throw the green paint away, you don't need it.. If you want colour in this room use the glass display cabinet and put some beautiful coloured glass in there. I sometimes put Japanese inspired flower arrangements on the middle of islands to add a modern structure and punch some colour in. The advantage to both of these methods is that you can change the colour scheme when ever you like. One idea that would transform the room: Put an American shutter up on the window. White with wide 80mm slats. Make sure the slat control is concealed, don't let them sell you a shutter with that awful rod down the middle. This will look amazing in this room. If you really fancy being adventurous mirror the window wall around the shutters above the splash back. You will need to make templates and have the mirror cut to those to ensure a perfect fit. Visually the room will double in size as your eye is tricked into seeing the furniture repeated as a reflection. I know it sounds a little "out there" but I have done this on many occasions and it works amazingly well. Comments (4)Very pretty fabric. The background grey of the curtains would make a lovely wall colour. I don’t think you need anything bolder as the fabrics are quite bold. A pale grey carpet would be a nice neutral. I think you could go quite bold, if you dare, with the sofa though - bright green or teal, or pink. I think the Parker Knolls would look great in a bold velvet, but if that’s too much then a muted grey will still look great and you can liven them up with colourful cushions. Here’s some ideas, but I couldn’t find many images of curtains like yours with a sofa!...See More- 5 years ago
