Comments (22)Hi Philip You can hang on wall whatever you like i guess. I would start with a question, is your room soundproofing sorted? After the whole room sound insulation you can then put on wall number of different styles of acoustic panels. And make that way your own art. They are made flat poster look likes or textured like recording studios. I would start with that. Then there are many companies doing large prints so you can use your own photo or picture or notes to make your own personal wallpaper. Comments (14)We re-did our family bathroom last year and have a shower over the bath with a glass screen. We went for quite a simple square ish design of bath - so it gives plenty of room for showering. My only top tip - go for a simple bath screen with the least amount of fittings / hinges and slidey bits because they’re all a pain to clean!!! Our old (and expensive) screen was a sliding one and we could never get to certain bits of it, and within a year or so it looked dreadful. The new one was much cheaper and is a simple screen that folds both in and out. It also has one long hinge / wall attachment - so it’s really easy to clean. A year in and it still looks like new! The other thing we did was to have all the shower fittings concealed in the wall - again makes cleaning easier. And we also ditched the taps and went for a bath filler that is controlled by the shower fitting. Comments (22)Hi Jonathan, thanks for your comments. The building to the right is attached and is ours . However we aren't able to extend into it. Partly due to budget but the barn has to stay smaller than the main farm house for the planning permission. This is so it can be classed as an ancillary building. If we are able to get planning permission in the future we would be looking to convert that end into. A holiday cottage. Our parents live in the main farm house. Good point regarding the plant store, we do hope to make this smaller but it all depends on how far we can dig out without undermine the building. That end of the building is higher up and has a thicker floor so wouldn't have as much head room but sufficient for a plant store. If we are able to dig it out enough(my partner seems positive) then we would be looking at extending the living room to incorporate an office or play room area. I hadn't even considered moving the plant store to the basement but that's an excellent idea thank you, I'd have to see what regulations etc and if it's possible . There are three outdoor doors on the front of the building. One t o the boot room, one centrally and one in the corner. We plan to use the one in the living room as a window but looking like a door from the outside. On the back of the building there are also three doors to the outside garden area. One in the kitchen, one opposite the front central floor and one in the plant store room . We'd like to keep the boot room to the far left of the building as this is next to the gate which leads into the farmyard. Comments (11)Thanks all. I think paving could be the way to go then. There's already flagstones and paving around the corner of the house, so it would create some continuity. Slight hiccup is that I've been searching for similar slabs (Bradstone Wetherdale Cotswold), and they don't make them any more. They're a riven, stone-effect concrete. I'm emailing Bradstone to find out what the nearest, current product is. I may do a small amount of decking around the veranda doors as my dogs struggle with the step down at night, plus I need to consider which would give the best rainwater removal and septic access. (I'm also struggling to find smooth decking around here, and grooved doesn't age too well.)...See More
