Comments (28)something like this would work I think, it is a very soft colour...think dark reds will be too dark...or maybe a soft grey tartan or check , a duck egg colour would also be lovely and really lighten up the space without taking away the cost feel...hope this link works! http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://cdn0.notonthehighstreet.com/system/product_images/images/001/189/535/original_plaid-wool-handmade-lampshade.jpg%253F1372866004&imgrefurl=http://www.notonthehighstreet.com/weftbespokedesign/product/plaid-wool-handmade-lampshade&h=900&w=900&tbnid=2t2-3YNnS_CtlM:&zoom=1&docid=Ucd_ov0Bw9kRvM&ei=Ku_UVNmFEMHmUsKyg6AF&tbm=isch&client=safari&ved=0CF4QMyhWMFY4yAE...See MoreLiving room update- what colours/ sofas etc would you go for?
Comments (1)I think tan leather would look good with the mango furniture. I'm not sure that mid century would complement your furniture, Chesterfields are fashionable and fine for modern homes so you could go down that route. Although I think something like this would look great: http://www.made.com/canape-3-seater-sofa-saddle-tan-premium-leather. Decor wise with tan leather cooler colours work best - blues, greens and greys. I love olive green with it - you could bring in as an accent wall if light is an issue and copper accessories would look great with the olive - Next has lots of lovely copper stuff in at the moment....See Morewill this chair go with this sofa ?
Comments (19)Hello Frango1, The wingback from IKEA is a nice one actually and gr8 for its price .. I have other favourites but not for this price range.. I like the grey and this colour is my preferred within the range.. It can look very stylish teamed with fabulous cushion or two and so I would say yes to this.. With regards to the sofa, have you looked at Loaf? They do some very nice options and think you could benefit from having a look before you decide sofa wise.. With a sofa, it's a good idea to find the best you can afford, simply because it's a bigger piece. Also consider some lovely throws for arms of sofa. It would be rather nice to perhaps find a colour for the sofa that is a shade darker than the wingback.. Then compliment the armchair with the throw and fabulous cushions.. A couple at one end for the sofa is how I arrange them.. :))...See MoreLeather sofa - a good idea or not? Owners of leather sofas I need you
Comments (16)Hi, I've had leather sofas... wouldn't get them again. They look great and are easy to clean, but if you are someone who gets cold easily and don't like the feel of cold surfaces in the winter you will cringe every time you sit on them in the winter. (I'm guessing you have wood burner because your house gets cold) and if you are someone who is generally hot all the time then in the summer when your're wearing shorts and t-shirt you will stick to them and they will make you very sweaty leaving wet patches as you get up. The worst is when guests leave wet patches where their bums have been! Once the sofa has been worn in a bit and the seat area gets a tiny bit saggy as they all do, you will find yourself sliding into the sag. You will find yourself pulling yourself out each time you get up, especially in the bigger sofas. An occasional chair as in Sonia's picture I think is fine or if they are in a secondary room. Not to mention repair costs if you manage to damage the leather. Regarding cleaning sofas then we bought a upholstery and carpet cleaning machine. (The house had very light cream coloured carpet throughout when we moved in) It works great. We never had a problem with fading or any extra wear and tear....See MoreTashmina Hoque
