Hi there.

Yes, the Countertop is Neolith Iron Moss and the clients love it and use it every day. We even installed it in their BBQ area outside.

So funny! I'm planning to paint the bannister at the new house (TNH) black and am veering towards painting the treads and risers black too... I've been searching for images of black staircases on Houzz and putting them in my entrance hall ideabook. They are few and far between. In your case, I think, with your white walls, maybe the stairs white and the bannister black? (Assuming the white walls continue up the stair walls enabling the b/w contrast.) You've already put black firmly into the equation, adding some more may give more reason for the black rad cab. In my case, there is a very off-centre radiator that could so very easily have been directly opposite the front door in TNH which is rather annoying as it stuffs up the focal point. We are leaving here with every radiator covered with a cabinet - and going to TNH that has loads of radiators ...but no cabinets! Yes, the work ahead is daunting - especially since the area of Ireland we're going to is very basic and not full of DIY resources, etc. I keep thinking I'll paint TNH white - to make things simpler(!) But try as I may colour keeps wandering through my mind! Lovely to be in touch again!

Hello mv5869, haha yes... my technical wording! A hand held spray gun is what I was thinking of..... Like they use for cars! I was rather thinking of one of these... I haven't spray painted anything but rather feel you'll get better results than from a can... You may even be able to hire something... Grey or charcoal or a nickel colour would be lovely yes... I nearly suggested it.. : ))

Having looked through your idea book, I would say that 70 percent of the pictured have a similar style to them, broadly speaking. Warmer tones, some darker wood / walnut, many of them handleless. As a next step, I would go back to all the pictures and write down the elements that appeal to you, and be quite specific. If there is one picture that stands out to you as having the right overall balance you can use this as a template when planning your kitchen, even if for example it has shaker doors, but you might want handleless. You also need to consider how the kitchen will look against existing elements in the room, and things you might be planning for the living area. Then consider the practical elements, ie pros and cons of different doors, finishes, worksurfaces etc. Some of this will depend on your circumstances, do you cook a lot, want easy to clean etc? There's lots of articles on Houzz covering that kind of thing. Budget will also play a big part. For my part, I went with a handless German kitchen, with a matt finish with a quartz worktop. I cook a lot and have found this combination very easy to keep clean.

I love the overhead lighting but there's so many it's quite distracting. I think there needs to be cabinet lighting as I wouldn't bother looking inside. If Theres room I'd add small leather footstools or benches at the end of the tie counters. Love the ceiling, is it copper sheeting? Whilst I love it I think there needs to be a contrast with the wood to break up all the warm tones like the dark wall at the end, although all the black clothes are doing quite a good job! I'd also add plants and/or stems, real or faux, to add a bit of life and maybe few accessories on the shelves. Are there mirrors anywhere? After all that though, I do love it and think it's spacious enough :)
