How much did this bedroom cost?

I'm thinking of possibly designing mine a similar way but now sure if I have space.
How big is this room and how much did it cost?

Hi Nadia. The width of the room where the wardrobes were built in was approx 4 metres. Length was approx 3.1 metres.

Regarding costs, they can vary a lot, depending on what materials you choose, how much is going on inside the wardrobes, etc. Also, if you hire a designer to design and manage the project, you need to factor that cost in as well.

For a ballpark figure, if you are looking to do a whole bedroom, including bespoke joinery, somewhere between £10,000 and 20,000 is realistic, which factors in materials, costs for trades and design. But like I said, this can vary depending on what you are looking to do. I hope this is helpful.

Hi Melanie. I would keep it painted white and go for the copper theme. I think it's a good idea to swap to blinds. I think it's important for a small room to let in as much light as possible so may consider a roller blind. If not, have a look at these. http://www.blinds-2go.co.uk/roman-blinds/16335/ankara-dusty-rose.html I would add pale grey and blush pink to the scheme hence the blinds! What's opposite the window? Could you add a large copper mirror for more light and to give it a spacious feel? You could consider some good faux flowers for the window sill. For the desk a copper lamp and perhaps just a couple of accessories so as not to clutter. Can the shelf above the bed be removed? You could add some large cushions to act as a headboard. You could also add some art or stencils behind the bed to draw the eye up which should hopefully make the room feel a little larger. What's the ceiling height? Is there a pendant light as you add some interest here. Could you have a go at re-covering the futon? I seriously cannot sew but "re-covered" my garden sofa cushions which look fine from the front!

I found the Dulux Visualator, or whatever it’s called, to be pretty useless. I used it once to visualise my old sitting room colour just to see how accurate it was. My walls were Dulux Elderflower so compared it on the Dulux online thingy and it was completely different!

So a dormer loft conversion costs the same as a side extension? It sounds like you'll be getting more space for the side extension for the same amount of money then. Have you had a look at other bungalows down your road or area that have had extensions vs no extensions and see what they have sold for, then you can see if it's worth it but who knows what the market will be like in a couple of years time. In terms of appealing to more when selling, people probably would prefer bedrooms upstairs but if bedrooms are larger and downstairs is huge it will be more attractive to buyers ( I think ) especially if there is a large family. Lots of new builds have a bedroom downstairs so it's not unusual plus families considering a bungalow won't be looking for the norm in terms of layout so 2 bedrooms downstairs is fine. You can also ask your estate agent that sold you the bungalow, get their thoughts on what is attractive to buyers, I'm sure they'll be helpful in case you'll use them in the future :-).

Hi abby151, I have exactly the same upstairs layout to yours (albeit a mirror image and the chimney breast in bedroom 1 backing onto the bathroom) and I'm trying to figure out how to get a 4th bedroom too! Looking to do a 1.5 extension so 4th bedroom would be in roof with pretty dormer windows, my only answer so far is to reduce the size of the main bathroom making it narrow and without a window to get the landing and entrance into the new bedroom, but I think the bathroom will be a bit claustrophobic with no window. Sorry can't be of any useful help, just amazed someone has the same house layout and the same dilemma as me!!
