The client booked a ‘home styling’ consultation and I proposed a list of improvements to the main reception rooms. The client had a beautiful mix of antique furniture but the upholstery was tired and we needed many new fabrics and I prepared a brief how to give the rooms a make over.
The main elements of the ‘make over’ were: purchase of a new coffee table, choosing ten new fabrics to recover all chairs and sofas, managing and liaising with six different upholsterers and restorers suitable for each part of the project. That included the full and thorough restoration of a very high quality antique chair and re-polishing of an original dining table, restoring an antique clockwork, cleaning and resewing my white natural wool rugs, as well traditional repair and re-upholstery of antique sofas and chairs . I designed beautiful new slipcovers for the worn out dining chairs and had their legs painted in a bespoke paint finish which turned them into quite a special piece. Lastly I designed practical new beanbags in a beautiful bespoke made French fabric weaved to order and colour coordinated with the existing blinds.
