Classic cream with angled island

The clients were extending their existing kitchen into a new family room extension, they wanted to re-use some of their existing units and extend the remit of the kitchen into the brand new extension. Roots changed the L shape configuration to create plenty of cooking and storage and added an angled shaped island. This made great use of the new space as well as reflecting the existing angles in the room. The resulting kitchen is sociable, stylish and hardworking; It has a period feel but is light and airy and works like a dream.
The island was angled to fit the parameters of the room. The island has a hard working Corian worktop to withstand water and provide a constrast to the natural timber in the rest of the kitchen.

The neutral colour scheme leaves plenty of scope for injections of colour with accessories and this can be changed over time without major upheaval or expense.

The dresser was refitted from original kitchen and tucks quite neatly in the corner - a great place for the tv.

These traditionally styled subway tiles provide texture as well as a practical splashback.

The tall units were fitted in the original angles of the room and the open shelf unit was created to finish the run with some easy access storage.
Open shelving adds a splash of colour with cookery books and storage.
The worktop overhang on the island provides a neat seating area to ensure guests are comfortable and not in the way of the cook.
