The owners' of this kitchen knew how they wanted to live in a new kitchen; they knew what style they liked, but needed help pulling it all together and creating a layout that worked. There are two parts to this kitchen, a narrow entrance area leading into the kitchen and the main kitchen area. The kitchen was in need of an update with a view to creating a more modern look and addressing some of the layout issues. It had a difficult pinch-point as you walked in and the space did not allow for any social interaction.

The clients wanted a modern, unfussy, monochrome style which fitted with the design of the rest of their interior and they particularly wanted somewhere to linger, for guests to perch, morning coffee and a cosy kitchen supper.

In the new layout the units were confined to an L shape which allowed room for a small peninsular on the third wall which, not only works as additional handy worktop space, but a great space to sit and and chat and enjoy a glass of wine. The area leading into the kitchen was utilised as a bank of storage which included boiler and fridge storage; the mirrors opposite give the illusion of openness andlight.

The client is delighted with their new space which has proved successful both in form and function.
